Hello all!
Today we had a very busy day in grade 2!
In math we began to create patterns with only the shapes and colours we are given. We used manipulatives (coloured beads and thread) to do this.
In Social Studies we reviewed the things that we can do and say that cause 'wrinkles' on someones heart and wrote about how we can be a good friend to others. We also came up with jobs for our classroom and discussed the responsibilities each job should have.
During Daily 5 and reading, we also discussed our 'Talking Voice' and our 'Thinking Voice' and how and when we use each of these voices.
Finally we worked on our art masterpieces using various lines, patterns and colours!
NOTE: It is the beginning of the year and as we are trying to build a classroom routine and learn responsibilities, we are focusing on the rules in our classroom and the 3 R's of CBIS (Respect, Responsibility and Results) that include: speaking English only, keeping our hands to ourselves, using our manners, listening skills and ALWAYS trying our best!
Thank-you for your support in encouraging our grade 2 students in these areas!
