Thank-you Parents of Grade 2B!
Thank-you for your generous donation of books to our classroom library! We are very excited to read them and use them in our learning!
The Book Fair seemed to be a huge success and students were very excited to look at and pick out new books! We hope there will be another Book Fair later on in the school year.

Today was a very productive and busy Wednesday. Students listened well and accomplished a lot! During our class Read Aloud for 'A Bad Case of Stripes.' Students really enjoyed the story and did a great job mapping the story individually afterwards.
In Science we did a final activity for our 5 senses where students created a short poem to express the things that they see, hear, smell, taste and feel in the autumn weather. We also were introduced to 'matter.' Students brainstormed all the things they thought matter was. Then we did an activity that allowed students to go around the classroom and identify and draw (record) the different things that they thought matter was.
We continued to build our knowledge of Daily 5 with good reading practices, and today we were introduced and practiced 'Read to Someone.' Students seemed to understand what they should be doing during this time. We will continue to practice reading to someone, and listening to someone else reading.
During Art today, students began to create their monsters that we wrote about yesturday! They look great! Students did an awesome job at bringing their written ideas to life and they are very proud of their monsters! ^^
Finally we ended our day in the library exchanging books and work on the IXL program. On IXL today students did review quizzes about patterns, and started to begin the number sense section of the program.
We are very excited for Halloween on Friday. If the school reaches their Read-A-Thon goal of 10 000 points, there will be a Halloween dance on Friday afternoon! Keep reading grade 2's!
See you tomorrow!
