Hello All!
Today we were very busy!
We began our day by retelling a story we had read this week and made story maps for. We retold the story to a friend and then retold the story together as a group.
In the next month before Christmas our focus in reading will be retelling!
In Math today students were introduced to place value. We practiced using rods and units (base ten blocks) to create various numbers and show these numbers pictorially.
In Science we completed a liquids experiment with Ms. McGifford's grade two class. We used various liquids (water, oil, honey, ketchup, milk, etc) and timed how long they took to flow from the start to finish down a sheet of paper. This taught us that not all liquids are the same and some of them are thin and some are thick, and this lets them flow faster or slower.
In Social Studies we did a follow up activity to our jobs and responsibilities interview presentations yesterday. Students needed to report about a new job that they learned about when listening to and watching their classmates presentations.
Finally we ended our day completing our landscape art using warm and cool colours!
See you all tomorrow!
Ms. Koniuch
Today's Homework:
1. Read for 20 minutes.
2. Journal: What do you know about liquids?
3. Practice singing our Christmas concert songs.
4. Spelling due Friday.
