Hello everyone,
Today we had a long day in grade 2B. Students had a hard time focusing and listening today, and we have been having a lot of trouble lately with students not completing their work in class and not completing their homework!
Right now when students do not do their homework or they are not working in class and being silly and talking instead of doing their work then they need to come and do it during lunchtime free-time.
Today as a class we agreed that if this happens and a student has to have detention, I will then be emailing their parent to tell them about their students detention. We agreed as a class (myself and the students) that this was fair and would help us to do our homework!
During our day today we began to focus more on out subtraction. We will continue to be working on subtraction this week and next week.
In Science students began to create their fish information craft projects. So far they did a good job on the information part of the project! They will have time to complete these on Friday.
In Language Arts we read chapter 7 of our novel. In this chapter Elmer meets a lion. Students identified the problem the lion had and identified the item Elmer used to solve the lions problem through discussion and a follow-up activity.
We also completed our story writing. Students wrote the rest of the story and what would happen to Elmer and the dragon. They got very creative and did a great job finishing the story in their own way!! ^^
See you all tomorrow! Ms. Koniuch
Today's Homework:
1. Read for 20 minutes.
2. Journal: Would you rather be a bird or a fish? Explain why to me. USE DETAILS!!!
3. Spelling due Friday.
4. Bring in information about your family history. What was your family like in the past. Who were they? Where did they live (if in Korea, where in Korea)? What did they do? What was their jobs?
