Hello everyone,
Today we had a great day in grade 2B!
In Language Arts we began to read our new novel 'My Father's Dragon'. We read the first two chapters today. Students had to complete some comprehension questions about the first two chapters. Students also did a visualization exercise to create images of the dragon in the story based on the description in the story and how they visualized it while reading! They did a great job and our dragons look awesome!
In Math students continued to work on their addition and subtraction. Today our focus was on working with the number 13.
In Science today we created our mammal summary visuals using the information we read and learned about yesterday. Students completed a craft activity creating a mammal and used the important information we highlighted in our text yesterday to fill out each info section of their craft information activity. They wrote about mammals skin, babies, their blood type (warm or cold), where they live, how they breathe and examples of different mammals.
In Social Studies we continued to practice reading a map. Students completed an activity that required them to look at a map and read it in order to answer the questions and find specific locations.
See you all tomorrow!
