Hello everyone,
We kept busy today with many things including finishing out letters to Santa! They will be mailed to Santa in the North Pole (of Canada) today!
In Science we completed two different experiments. First we did an experiment that taught us about dissolving, and how some solids can dissolve in liquids and others can not. The second experiment looked at the mass of liquids. We mixed a variety of different liquids and watched as some could mix (same mass) and others separated into layers (heavier liquids on the bottom and lighter on top).
In Writing today students used the story map graphic organizers to plan out the events of their story on a storyboard graphic organizer. This allowed students to use the setting, characters, problem, solution and events they brainstormed to create the events in order that they will happen in their stories. Starting with beginning, middle events, problem and solution and the ending of their story. This week and next week we will continue to build on this and write their stories!
In Math we continued to practice our place value and using expanded form!
In Art we continued to work on our reindeer pieces. We went up to the art room to use the oil pastels and water colour paints to add to our reindeer and their setting!
Finally we ended our day in the library, finding new books and working on a number sense activity on the IXL program.
See you tomorrow!
Ms. Koniuch
