Hello everyone,
We had a busy day in grade 2b! Along with Mandarin and Art Enrichment we began our day with a special Easter hunt! Students had to find various items in a a larger image! It was challenging but they did well.
In Math we continued to work on our 2-digit subtraction. We also began a review of both addition and subtraction. Constant practice is needed for students to fully understand the process and HOW they solve the problems, and what steps they are taking to solve the problems. We have been practicing identifying the questions that we need to borrow from the TENS column to solve and the questions that we do not! Sometimes it is tricky!
In Language Arts we read another short biography about Chantal Petitclerc, a Canadian Paralympic Gold Medalist and World Record holder. While reading these biographies students have practiced recounting/retelling events in TIME ORDER, and also making inferences and using the pictures and words in the text to learn more and better understand the story.
In Science we met with our groups for our science research project, and as a class we chose and animal and mimicked how we will be conducting our research about our animals throughout our class work period. Tomorrow is our first computer lab work period for our research!
Finally we ended our day in the gym for physical education!
See you all tomorrow!
Ms. Koniuch
Today's Homework:
1. Read for 20 minutes.
2. Journal: Why is it important to write stories in order? (time order, in order of the events actually happening)
3. Spelling due Thursday.
Below of pictures of the students working on their 'Mixed Up Me' assignments and trying to place their peers pictures and sentences together and in time order!
They all did a great job!
