Hello everyone,
Today we had a busy Tuesday. Along with Mandarin and art Enrichment students continued to work on their addition and subtraction withe the number 12. They are becoming quite good, and much more confident!
In Science today we began to look at the mammals animal group. Students were given their 'Animals of the World' booklets. They will be working with these booklets for the duration of the unit. We began to read about mammals and take out the important pieces of information from the text.
Today we also began our first novel study. As a class over the next few months we will be reading the short novel called 'My Father's Dragon' by Ruth Stiles Gannett. I will be reading to the students and each day and week students will have various comprehension questions and different activities to complete that are having to do with the story and themes throughout the story. This will help the students to demonstrate their listening and comprehension skills.
Finally we ended out day in the gym for physical education where we began to learn about playing and the techniques of floor hockey.
See you all tomorrow.
Ms. Koniuch
Today's Homework:
1. Read for 20 minutes.
2. Journal: What did you learn about mammals today? Students may write about what THEY learned today during our science class talking all about mammals. I would like them to write about what they learned independently, to see what they remember! Thank-you!
3. Spelling due Friday.
4. Unfinished work.
