Hello everyone,
We had a wonderful spring day in grade 2 today! Along with Mandarin class and Art Enrichment, students continued to keep very busy with our Science Fair projects! There is a lot of work involved and they have done a great job at keeping organized and working hard!
In Math students worked in small groups to make estimations about the lengths and heights (measurements) of various objects. They then practiced ordering these objects from shortest to tallest and shortest to longest.
In Physical Education today we began our new unit 'Cooperative Games.' Students were introduced to the concept of cooperation and working together. They then learned and practiced a game called 'Crossing the Falls' which requires students to work together with their teammates to get the entire team from point A to point B only using the various objects they are given (they are unable to step on the floor, only on the items). This activity gets increasingly more difficult with added rules each time and requires the students to communicate, work cooperatively and of course a whole lot of teamwork!
REMINDER: Students should be working on their Animal Dioramas at home as they are due in class on Tuesday, April 28th (next week)!!!
Thanks so much and I will see you all tomorrow!
Ms. Koniuch
Today's Homework:
1. Read for 20 minutes.
2. Journal: What is your pet peeve? (something that annoys or bugs you, for example: my pet peeve is when people make a scratching sound because ...)
3. Spelling due Friday
4. Return CBIS Survey Form
5. Animal Diorama due: Tuesday, April 28th!
