Hello Everyone,
I hope you all had as great of a short week as we did!
Today along with Mandarin we continued to work cooperatively in math to create and identify the rules for different increasing patterns.
We had our second spelling quiz and we reviewed the components of a story by sharing what we have been reading about during our Daily 5 time.
In Social Studies we were given different problems and practiced rating them on our 1-5 scale of how big they are. This helps us to understand how we should act to resolve a problem or issue that we might have. When do we need to use our 'I' statements, when do we need to tell a teacher or an adult, and when it might be an emergency.
Finally we had a great time learning new cooperative game in the gym.
NOTE: Next week we will begin our spelling groups. Every student learns differently and at a different pace. Therefore to better benefit our grade 2's learning I have decided to divide the spelling groups. No child is 'stuck' in a group, they will be moved into groups that best fit their level and learning needs, and groups will change throughout the school year. This will begin next week in class during our spelling work. All homework and quizzes will be structured the same, however they will just have different words (that focus on different things). Thanks for your understanding and support!
I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable long weekend! See you Monday!
