Hello everyone!
Today we kept busy with Mandarin and Art Enrichment. In Math we continued to work on 2-digit subtraction and today we practiced solving problems without using our tens and ones houses! Students did very well with this and are becoming more comfortable with both methods of solving these problems and borrowing from the tens column when needed.
In Science today we continued to practice creating food chains and students finished writing our descriptions of their food chains using our new vocabulary words!
In Language Arts we read a new short biography about a young Canadian boy who raised money to help people in India and made a difference. Students discussed how we could make a difference and practiced making different inferences about the character based on what we read and could see in the pictures to help us have a better understanding.
Finally this afternoon we had our Monthly Assembly. The focus of the assembly this month was on Cooperation. As last months assembly looked at 'responsibility', the awards for responsibility were given out. Congratulations to Jack and Julie for demonstrating responsibility with their work, homework and in class this month!
See you tomorrow!
Ms. Koniuch
