Hello Everyone, I hope you all had wonderful weekends and enjoyed the nice fall weather!
In Social Studies today we began to look at the school rules, and why we have school rules and why they are important. We had Dr. Erickson come and visit our classroom to talk to us about why it is important to ave school rules and what some of our most important school rules are! Thank-you Dr. Erickson!
In Math today students continued to practice counting by 2's, 5's and 10's. We also practiced identifying and writing different counting patterns. For example: Counting forwards by 5's, or counting backwards by 2's.
Today we visited the library to choose some new books for reading this week. Students also wrote a goal for the number of pages that they wanted to read this week, as it is the last week of our school Read-A-Thon. Students used their Read-A-Thon Reading Logs from the past three weeks to write their goals.
Finally students were introduced to their new spelling words, completed their spelling work, and had a very productive work and behaviour day! Great job today Grade 2b!
BOOK FAIR
Today we began our morning at the Book Fair! Students made a 'Wishlist' of the items and books they liked. These wishlists were sent home with students today for you to look at. If you would like your child to purchase any of the items please send in the correct amount of money with your child tomorrow OR you may come and make any purchases today or tomorrow.
HALLOWEEN (Friday)
Parents, please send in ONE bag of nut-free treats with your student this week before Friday. On Friday as part of our Halloween activities and celebration, students will be participating in a trick-or-treating activity while in their costumes. We ask that you send in one bag of nut-free treats with your student for this activity. Thank-you so much for your support!
Today's Homework:
1. Read for 20 minutes.
2. Journal: What did you do this weekend?
3. Spelling due Friday.
4. Bring in Book Fair Wishlist and money tomorrow (If you want to make a purchase).
