Hello everyone,
Today we began our day with our new Spelling words and work booklets. Students put their spelling words into sentenced, answered questions about their meanings and used the words prefixes to make new words and find words the rhyme.
In Math students continued to practice various subtraction strategies, and using words to explain their thought process of solving the equation.
In Social Studies students made their January Changes pages for their changes booklets. They identified things that had changed in CBIS, our classroom and outside throughout the month of January.
Today we also started to talk a lot more about our families history and how Korea and Seoul were very different places a long time ago. We shared our family history's that we learned about last week and we talked about things that we thought or learned were very different about everyday life and how people long ago did different things.
On Wednesday we will be visiting Amsa Prehistoric Park where students will be able to see homes and different technologies and tools that people used long ago for various things.
During Language Arts we had silent, independent reading today. As there is a BC test for grade 4-6 going on we were unable to visit the library today and we will be doing so at a different time this week.
Ms. Koniuch
Today's Homework:
