Happy Monday everyone!
We had a great Monday in grade 2B!
In Math today we continued to review our addition and subtraction using various strategies. Students were also introduced to grouping and using different numbers to group things. We will continue to practice grouping and eventually be using it to help us with the addition and subtraction of larger numbers.
In Language Arts today we began our book report on our novel study book 'My Father's Dragon.' Students have to answer various questions about the book (comprehension), describe some of their favourite events and characters, design a new cover for the novel and more!
Today we began to brainstorm for our writing project this week. This week we will be looking at autobiographies and begin to write our own autobiographies! Students began today by beginning to create Maps of their Heart! They needed to include all of the things that they love and are a part of them, making them who they are!
Finally we went to the library today to change our books and find more!
See you all tomorrow. Ms. Koniuch
Today's Homework:
1. Read for 20 minutes.
2. Journal: What did you do this weekend? Make sure you use at least 5 adjectives in your description! (REMINDER: adjectives are describing words! example: big, round, old, dry, wet, fun, wonderful, cold, hot ....)
3. Spelling due Friday.
