Happy Monday everyone!
Today we began our day completing our story maps from last Friday, and introducing our new spelling words and work booklets. We also began to plan our the rough draft for our bullying posters. Bullying has been an increasing issue in grade two over the last few months and is something we have been recently talking about a lot. Students are working on creating anti-bullying posters to hang up around the school, to teach others about what bullying is and what we can do to stop bullying!
In Math students were introduced to addition and subtraction. They used number lines to create equations and practice writing and using the various symbols (+, -, =). We will be continue to develop our addition and subtraction skills
In Social Studies we were introduced to what landforms are and created the title pages for our landforms booklets. We also did a Santa Claus mapping activity to get students used to using different types of maps. Students had to use a grid map and the hints given to discover which toy (gift) went to which child. They had a lot of fun with this activity!
