Hello everyone, Happy Friday!
We kept very busy this Friday. We began our day with Math! Students did a review of the place value we have been working on. We also continued to work on rounding numbers to the nearest ten. Students used their interactive math journals to practice rounding numbers and using number lines to help them visualize how we round certain numbers.
In Science today we made Oobleck ! It was a mix of cornstarch and water that creates a substance that is both a solid and a liquid. This allowed us to see and feel the difference between solids and liquids. It was a lot of fun! Students enjoyed it!

In Language Arts we continued to practice retelling stories using a story map. We read the story 'The Three Snow Bears'. Students were able to identify what their thinking voice was doing during reading and we compared this story to a common children's story most have read 'Goldilocks and The Three Bears'.
Finally we ended out day with Physical Education in the gym and in the auditorium for Music class. In music this week and next week we are watching a musical show about a young girl who finds music. There are many familiar songs that we will be learning from it and it is a good demonstration of the ways in which music is used in video and media!
Reminder: Next week we will still be collecting heat gear and warm clothing, hats, mittens, scarves and lightly used jackets to donate to the orphanage for Christmas! Thank-you to those that have already donated!
I hope you all keep warm and have a great weekend!
